How to get there
From Denver you can get in 2.5 hours. Travel time from the Needle will take about 40 minutes.
A special charm is filled with night descents along the illuminated winding tracks, equipped on the slopes of three mountains (Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback), located in the White River National Park. The North Peak and Outpost Mountain are recognized as the most difficult trails, wrapping around the dense forest that surrounds the resort town from all sides.
Dercum Mountain is mainly for beginners, although the A51 Landscape Park is located nearby – the most difficult and interesting skiing area, popular among extreme snowboarders. North Peak Mountain is suitable for already advanced skiers, there are several “black” slopes. The Outback is for those looking for variety. The North Bowl and South Bowl areas are especially popular.

In your free time, you can visit the famous Mount Rushmore, which is called the Mount of Presidents, and located in the vicinity of Keystone. It is in this granite rock that the portraits of four famous US presidents are carved – George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Of course, the place to visit is not the mountain itself, but the National Memorial, at which the Lincoln-Bohr-Glum Museum is open. And in the evening, for two hours, the stern stone faces of American leaders are illuminated by special lanterns against the backdrop of a huge boulder and a blue-black sky.

Some of the local restaurants can only be reached by lift or horse-drawn sleigh.
